Coral Princess Golf & Dive Resort is on the north west side of Cozumel island. It is located on the edge of a the Coral Princess reef sanctuary, a 10 – 20 foot depth reef wall that runs the length of the shoreline hotel and vacation properties in that area until it drops deeper at Las Brisas Shore 20 – 40 foot depth.
Pepe’s Dive Shop is on site and open to the public where you can rent a full set of snorkeling gear for approximately $15/day. I only need fins and rented a quality pair for just $42/week. Pepe’s Dive Shop also carries gear for sale and I was able ro replace my missing clip to secure the snorkel to my mask. They offer boat snorkeling and dive tours. These are experts and can tell you the best places to see around the island.
To experience the Coral Princess reef, you need to be a hotel guest. Rooms average about $100/night and the convenience of a comfortable room and a healthy reef just off the luxury pool area is well worth the price and an excellent way to wake up in the morning. Coral Princess reef is home to sponges and soft coral, chain eels, seat turtle, nurse sharks, eagle rays, and many colorful fish, my favorite is the Yellowtail Damselfish.
